The Hortensia Road South redevelopment will transform the land on the corner of Hortensia Road and the King's Road into an innovative housing scheme providing a mixture of private homes for rent and affordable homes.

Grainger plc was selected to redevelop and manage the council-owned land next to the Carlyle Building, as well as another under-utilised site at Young Street, by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in September 2012. The Royal Borough granted planning permission for 31 new homes for rent at Hortensia Road and 53 at Young Street in January 2014. This follows a comprehensive public consultation on the plans with local communities, ward councillors and the Council.

Our plans will allow us to become a part of the local community with a long-term commitment to the area through a 125 year lease with the Council who will retain the freehold and share a proportion of the long term rental income stream with Grainger.

The proposals also include the opportunity to create an active, commercial ground floor that complements the shops and businesses on the King's Road. Construction is due to start before the end of the year and we will be updating this website with more information before work is due to begin.
